Getting Started With Blogging

So you’ve decided that you would like to start a blog either for entertainment, making additional income or maybe even full time income. Now you can get started using the free platforms available like Blogger.com and Wordpress.com without any cost to you. Getting you started quick and easy, leaving you blogging within minutes.

Well, being the control freak that I like to be sometimes I prefer to have some control over the things I do. So, the option for me was buying a hosting account with Hostgator where I had control over my sites for a low fee of under $10 per month (I usually get the 6mth package giving me savings of a few extra dollars).

Also, if you don’t want the hassel of doing this yourself you have the option of hiring a Virtual Assistant to get all this work done for you quick and easy.

So here is your step by step formula for owning your own blog:

1.Buy your domain name. Try Namecheap, Yahoo or Godaddy.

2.Secure your hosting account. I use Hostgator but there are others.

3.You should receive an email from the hosting company with your login access info along with your DNS number. Please keep this information in a safe and secure place as well as for easy access.

4.Go into the accout you bought your domain name and change the DNS number with your hosting account number.

5.Give it a few minutes for the transfer to be complete. Then access your cpanel. This will be included in the email you received from your hosting account.

6.In your cpanel go to the fanastico icon and click on it. Go through the process and make sure to pick you are setting up a wordpress blog. Keep your admin and password access in a secure and easy to find place.

7.Once that is done you should now be able to go to your domain.com and access your new blog.

Now wasn’t that easy? If not you’ll soon get the hang of it. I love being able to work on my blog anytime I want and not waiting for a webmaster to assist me with a website. I now build my own blogs as well as for my customers. Plus, when I get creative I love just expressing my taughts as well as promoting my clients and friends, making me extra cash as well.
